About Rhonda Boram
Nearly six years ago, Rhonda Boram opened
“A Taste of Thyme” in the heart of the renowned Horseshoe Bay area.
Every day is a celebration of her Bistro style Café as she welcomes
new patrons as well the many friends she has made through her
restaurant and her involvement in the Horseshoe Bay community.
While Rhonda always enjoyed cooking, she did not start a career until
her children were older. She went to work for a tea room in Arlington
and that eventually led to her attending culinary school. Following
that she “Interned” at Whole Foods for three years and developed her
culinary as well as her managerial skills along the way.

It was her dream to open her own restaurant. After a visit to the Hill
Country, she decided that Horseshoe Bay was the place to start. She has found
a true home here.
Today her dream serves breakfasts, lunches and prepares her fabulous baked
goods 6 days a week. She also caters everything from dinners for eight,
bridal showers and tea parties to sit-down dinners for 200 and on and on.

Rhonda is constantly coming up with new ideas and enjoys being creative. She
has however found that often her regular patrons do not always like it when
she gets too creative with her regular menu – They have favorites, such
as her famous Chicken Salad, and expect
them to be available. So she often tries news things with the daily specials
and on catering assignments.
Another outlet for her creative instincts is the Thursday morning breakfast
club started by a few local patrons. Here she has an opportunity to try out
gourmet breakfast treats on the guests who gather once a week.

Operating a restaurant and catering business 6 days a week does not leave
her a lot of spare time, but Rhonda has found many ways of becoming involved
in the community. She has been a frequent contributor to the Hill Country
Community Theater events and has also been instrumental in starting the
Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance.
